What is a bomb pot in poker?
A bomb pot replaces the usual blind-led preflop round with an equal forced contribution from every active player. In Aurora, the pot is built first, private cards are dealt, and action begins only after the first community cards appear.
How do you play Aurora Bomb Pot Poker?
- The dealer selects a supported game and Bomb Pot mode. Double Board and Triple Board force this mode automatically.
- Every active player posts 2 chips. A short stack posts what remains and is all-in.
- Aurora deals five private cards clockwise from the seat after the dealer.
- There is no preflop betting round.
- Aurora deals the full flop for every board. Betting starts with the first active seat after the dealer.
- Turns and rivers are dealt in lockstep, with betting after each street.
- At showdown, Aurora applies the selected variant’s exact card-usage and settlement rules.
Do bomb pots use blinds in Aurora?
No. Every active player posts the same ante, and the engine records no small blind or big blind. The table may still show SB and BB as positional labels for the first two seats after the button; those labels do not mean those players posted extra chips.
How many cards do players get?
Aurora’s current Double Board and Triple Board setup defaults to five private cards and lets the dealer configure the count within deck-safe limits. Each board hand must still use exactly two private cards and exactly three cards from that board.
How do the board formats differ?
Single board
Bomb Pot is a preflop mode available to supported mixed games; the chosen game determines the board and scoring.
Double Board
Two independent boards. Each owns 50% of every pot and can be won or tied separately.
Triple Board
Three independent boards. Each awards one point; the player or players with the highest point total win the whole pot.
No burn cards
Aurora deals directly from its digital deck. Double Board uses 10 community cards; Triple Board uses 15.
What is the most important distinction?
“Bomb pot” describes how the hand starts, not how its pot is settled. Double Board splits chips by board. Triple Board totals board points and awards the whole pot to the point leader. Treating those as the same payout system is a rules error.
Frequently asked questions
Is there preflop raising?
No. Aurora goes from equal forced posts and the private-card deal directly to the flop reveal.
Can folded cards return?
Only in a separate Aurora ESG configuration. Double Board and Triple Board disable ESG.
